A very nice surprise of a hotel. New Orleans is a great city, with many non-chain hotels. Sometimes those are a gamble, but the Queen & Crescent is exceeds the standards of Hilton hotels that I have stayed at.
All went well, but try to get your boarding pass printed there, and it will take half an hour to do it. The business computer is free, but does not even have Adobe or pdf software on it. The staff were not computer savvy. That was the only glitch of our stay. The American coffee they served for breakfast was typically watered down, the way it usually is in the usa. I guess that's why the likes of Starbucks is so successful.
Very convenient location, walking distance from the French Quarter and from the Convention Center.
1) Fitness room was very limited - no elliptical machine (the front desk had said there was when I called), no free weights, no fan. 2) The continental breakfast was lacking, usually just coffee (no decaf) and make-your-own waffles; no fruit or juice or rolls. 3) The desk in the room was not set up well for working on a laptop.
The staff were extremely rude and not at all helpful !! The bed was meant to be a queen but more like a double. Just a bad hotel would not recommend it at all
Design of rooms
availability of officers at the reception desk druing day time. there should be more than 1 person at a time during 'hot' hours.
Comfortable, convenient to French Quarter, Wharehouse District, and not far from Port(going on a cruise)
The young man at check in was a little snooty. Rooms are fairly small.
The staff was polite. The room was clean. The location was great being that it was walking distance to most places we wanted to go. If it we wanted to go further, we were close enough to a street car or bus if needed. I like the fact that I can park my car and not have to use it again until I check out.
The only problem I had with the hotel was the parking situation. Valet was $29 (which I feel should be included in the hotel price). We opted to park in the parking lot next to the hotel and our got hit twice. Damage to our back driver-side door and the back passenger side bumper. So now we have car repairs to take care of.
Location is great - close to both cultural points of interest as well as the "usual" New Orleans attractions. Very quiet, despite being inhabited by a wild gang of fraternity/sorority kids.
Age of the building lends the room a slight musty odor. Easily remedied by two 99-cent air fresheners. :)
Not satisfied with cleaning. The room was dirty when we moved in. The bathroom was unpractical. Small, no shelfs and places to put your things. That goes for the whole room. Hotel is far too expensive for what it offers! And $35 per day for parking your car in some backyard is a rip-off!
When I checked in the desk staff could not find my reservation. When they did, they charged me for an extra night and gave us the wrong room key so we ended up walking in on a room that was already occupied.
Room was clean, continental breakfast was better than anticipated
Elevators and lobby restrooms were dirty. Staff were unattentive, not friendly or smiling and often talking on their cell phones.
Dirty place, noisy customers, no microwave in the hotel, no flat screen, dirty room, old windows, 4 tables to breakfast for the whole hotel and so on
The parking was to high
Combination of price and location Very nice hotel staff
Filthy hotel from top to bottom. Our door was always jamed, hot water was spotty at best. &Quot;Extra charges at check in were obscene. No hair dryer.Furniture missing handles etc. Never staying in that dump again
Convienent and not expensive
